I’m giving a Masterclass tonight: “Translating with your Biography”, as part of a programme for translators with non-western European heritage, organised by de Tank and the amazing Neske Beks who is working towards championing more diversity in literary translation.
It can only work if we put in effort and work, and we believe, as an industry, that the more variety and differences we can bring into the practice, the better. We can create a variety of specialities using our biographies, our passions, and our experiences. This is precious and should be nurtured, not debated.
