Under water, under construction
Are “in process” and “under construction” synonymous? I wonder as I walk through the brand new underwater bicycle parking space which welcomed visitors for an afternoon in January, prior to its official opening.
I always love seeing places under construction, and I think it is linked to my love and belief in process;
touching the bubble-wrapped handrails as we make our way underwater,
trespassing the white/red striped ribbon to capture spaces yet untouched,
walking on the tiles ordered from Portugal waiting for higher temperatures to be fixed together.
I am thinking of the next time I will be here: to park my bicycle before taking a train somewhere close or far.
What these photographs tell me is that next to process I also value the archiving of experiencing life under construction.
